On Nov 13th, 2006, the International Citizens' Tribunal for Sudan-ICTS, http://www.judgmentongenocide.org/, found President Omer al-Bashir guilty on 15 counts including genocide, torture, mass rape and killing.
The ICTS panel of judges consisted of five Judges including the Chair of the Court Wole Soyinka, Peace Nobe Laureate.
The Group Against Torture in Sudan was involved in all the steps of that first People's Court for the crimes of the Sudanese regime. The court was considered by many human rights groups as an introduction to the coming International Criminal Court.
Almost two years later, the ICC will be announcing on Mon 7/14/2008 the indictment of the major key players in the President's al-Bashir regime.
